Visiting Hawaii - White Sand Kailua Beach
The most comfortable way to arrive to Kailua Beach is to go to Ala Moana Center. Then, on the mountain side of the center ~which is the side opposite to the ocean~ come aboard bus Route 57. It displays Kailua above the windshield. Tell the driver to advice you on what to do to reach Kailua Beach.
When visiting Hawaii, Kailua Beach exposes a visitor to the handwriting of nature's architect which gives pleasant feelings, and puts a smile on the face of folks capable to see beauty and exquisiteness. A first-time experience tells us that ~when visiting Hawaii~ this place warrants satisfying times.
Visitors immediately notice Kailua Beach's long and extensive beach bathed by the lovely and certainly crystalline Hawaiian turquoise waters. It invites to a long and relaxed walk on the fine grains of its almost white sand. The edge of the beach opposing the shoreline extends into an elevated expanse of clean and well-kept grass. Along that edge of the beach ~and all over the grass~ there are plenty of trees and Palm Trees providing lots of refreshing shade to those who prefer to not be under the sun all day long.
Kailua Beach is welcoming and inviting to everyone visiting Hawaii.
Unlike Hanauma Bay, snorkeling is not an activity to consider. It is because there is nothing underwater other than almost white sand. However, the healthy activity of kayaking is almost mandatory for almost everyone. There are nearby small islands that literally call and invite to get on a kayak and paddle all the way to discover each of them.
Visitors to Kailua Beach may consider to visit the town of Kailua. In the mid-afternoon hours, it is worth catching the bus Route 70 for a short ride back into town. The central area is not as country-style as Haleiwa, but this town has its own magnetism and charm.
* Conditions & Facilities *
When visiting Kailua Beach in Hawaii, you will find few food stands on the beach. As it is the case most everywhere in Oahu, it is a good decision to bring your own food. Prices for drinks are costly, but within reason. You may then choose to not carry the weight of drinks, and buy them on the beach. Once there, visitors find where to rent kayaks for a reasonable price. They also find plenty of restrooms and shower areas all of which are reasonably well-kept.
Remember that, when visiting Hawaii, Oahu is an island in which drinkable and potable water is limited. So please, in consideration to local people, limit the duration of showers you take at the beach; and in the hotel.
* Recommendations *
Unlike Hanauma Bay's protected waters, Kailua Beach is Open Ocean. It is wise to approach the Life Guard's House ~located on the beach~ and tell them that you want to know if there is any particular condition for that day, or if there is any safety precaution you should be aware of.
* Average Time Needed *
The early birds have plenty of time spending the morning hours at the beach. Then, in the mid-afternoon hours, they may dedicate time to tour the small central area of Kailua. If you wish to not visit the town of Kailua, then, half a day may be all you need. Either way, your trip back is on bus Route 57 which will take you along with unforgettable memories to Ala Moana Center.
