While studying Neuroscience at University College London (UCL) I started to suffer from insomnia. A friend suggested I try acupuncture and I was blown away by the results. Within six weeks I had no difficulty sleeping. Not only that, but I started to feel more vibrant and happier than ever before.

To find out more I began looking into the scientific literature. For my final project at UCL I designed and carried out a small placebo-controlled trial of acupuncture for pain relief.

I became convinced of its effectiveness above and beyond a mere placebo. I then undertook a three year accredited training at the School of Five Element Acupuncture (SOFEA). This enabled me to become a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC).

The more I learned about acupuncture the more I was amazed by its insights into the workings of the human body and mind.

As well as diagnosis and treatment methods, we learned about patients' concerns and fears and how to put people at ease.

I continue to work in the field of acupuncture research. I have been involved in a large review of the evidence for acupuncture's role in the treatment of depression. This was published by the Cochrane Collaboration - a reliable source of evidence in health care.

After eight years experience of training, research and acupuncture practice I still find myself in awe at the power of acupuncture.

I have seen many people's pain and suffering replaced by happiness and fulfillment.

OH BTW THE UNITED MATCH WAS VOTED THE BEST, THE MOST EXCITING.
(probably because we didn't need to go to a penalty shoot-out.)
dia-mond i asked a question, but since your delicate skin has taken offence how many of your champions league victories have been by penalty shoot-outs, we did that last season and its no way to win a trophy.

And I disagree with that vote. I think Liverpool's comeback was more exciting to see. Bayern were better in that 1999 match, and deserved the win.

It was like how Bolton beat Manchester United last season. Just an ordinary set piece, but you didn't deal with it, and Anelka scored. 1-0. And that's how it stayed. Can we say Bolton deserved it?

Liverpool, on the other hand, had to recover from a first-half battering and did damn well to put Milan to the sword when everyone thought the second half would be about damage control for Liverpool. Nobody can say Milan deserved a win.

I suppose the voters went for 1999 based on when the comeback came more than anything else. Liverpool's was a blitz in the middle of the second half, and United's was a comeback in the dying minutes.

If a shootout is no way to win a trophy, may we safely make the last two Community Shield wins and the Carling Cup final null and void, meaning the best United can do is a double? Not counting the CWC, as no English team gets direct qualification there every season to count that as part of a treble or double or something.
