Having a list and checking it twice can make all the difference in your outcome!
Having just reviewed all my ‘non-options’ to find a way to pay for my son’s college I realized that starting any search with a check list is a great way to focus on on your needs .
So, when looking for a Realtor to help you in selling or buying your next home, start with a check list to make sure the agent you pick is the right one for you.
1. What means do they use to communicate on a regular basis? Email, snail mail, text, IM?
2. What is their presence on the web? Do they have their own website, is the information on it relevant and easy to use. – IF you can’t find them, how will others?
3. How well do they know the market? Can you easily find graphs and stats on their site that are specific to your market area?
4. How much “buzz” do they create with their listings? How many photos, virtual tours, what is the level of quality? Remember this is the first place buyers look and if your home is not “picture perfect” the buyers will move on to the one that is.
5. Do they offer a wide array of services and referrals? Moving requires a multitude of steps and synchronization… It can become a daunting task especially if you haven’t done it in a while or you are new to the area. – your Realtor should be your personal one stop concierge and they should have a system in place to notify you of each step in this process
Remember, today’s way of finding your next home is not the way your parent’s did it. It requires internet savvy, quick communication and instant access to market changes.
Start with a check list and you will find the right Realtor in a “click”
