Soccer Jerseys and How Far They Have Come
If you are a football fan, then it is no doubt that you love soccer jerseys. Soccer jerseys have come a long way. They have been around at the game of soccer itself. These attires play a big role in the game. One major role is to help the referee and even the fans of the game are able to differentiate with ease between the players in the field. With continued technological advancements the soccer jerseys have designed a great deal, with some even having the capability of absorbing the sweat of the players as they are playing resulting in the fact that the player remains cooler and cooler as they are on the pitch. Other advancement historically is that the soccer jerseys have numbers onto which the player is playing and the names of the sponsors of the team. Not to mention the fact that they are available in numerous colors quality.
The sole purpose why football teams wear soccer jerseys is to help differentiate the players from one another. Players of the same team wear soccer jerseys that are of the same color and similar pattern and in most cases they have their names on the jersey as well as the number they are playing all written on the back side. The other team also wears jerseys of different color and also has names and numbers on the back. In a team there should not be an instance of members of one team having the same jersey number but this is allowed if the players are of the opposite teams. The jerseys are also designed to allow players to be flexible in the field it should be in such a way that it does not cause discomfort to the players.
To a very large extent, soccer has a very long history. Football has always been with us since time immemorial. However team jerseys and colors of the jerseys were not part of the game initially. What used to happen is that players used to wear what they could lay their hands on. If they wanted to establish a distinction they could wear a cap with a certain color or be in slashes of different colors. Wearing of soccer jerseys began in the late years of the 1800s. That is when strict observance came into being as it was also considered a way of helping the people watching the game distinguish between players of different teams. A team that was visiting had to change its jersey if it was found to be of the same color with that of the home team.
Give factual information, the first time that players wore jerseys in the field that had numbers on the back was in the year 1933 it was the finals of the FA cup and the match was between Manchester City and Everton football club. They were jerseys that were designed in a special way and were specifically for that particular game. One team wore soccer jerseys that were red in color and the other one wore jerseys that were white in color. Players from the Everton team wore jerseys numbered between 1 and 11 while the other team from 12 all through to the number 22.
